My Daughter took my grandson, Riley to my Allergist to have the little guy tested. After the test was complete, we found that he is "majorly" allergic to: every single grass that grows here in Oklahoma, eggs, milks, soy, cats, dogs, cockroaches, and all molds. He is now on prescriptions that have altogether stopped his coughing and sniffling and runny nose, which always seemed as though he had a cold.

Carol and I drove to Springfield, MO to see our oldest son and his wife and their son Malloch (grandchild No. 7) who turned three months old on the 30th of October. He only sees us once a month, so he still is not really sure who we are.

I worked on my daughter's counter-top in her kitchen and installed a new sink. I am always intimidated with electrical and plumbing, and it was no different this time ... at least I installed the sink correctly, but we had to call the plumber to connect the disposal and drain pipes correctly. Carol and I are heading to California where she is temporarily working on assignment through her company as a pro-temp regional manager for the Sacramento Region. When we get back I plan to build a new segment of her kitchen cabinets.

We finally pulled out of town around 1:00 p.m. heading for California. We stopped in Amarillo, Texas for the night ... whew, was it ever chilly ... temperatures dipping down in the twenties that night.

We arrived in Sacramento, only after having to stop off at Carol's sister's house where we had to go online to try to find the contact person for our townhouse accomodations in Sacramento. The telephone number that was on the contact sheet turned out to be a wrong number. Long story, short ... we are settled and we're comfortable.

I finally scoped out the pool area and the "gym" here at the complex. The gym has six treadmill/cycling type of machines. I climbed on one and worked up a little sweat, then went and had a cigar.

I found out that the gym in the complex where we are staying has more to it. I found out today that there is a whole other room that has weight lifting equipment in it, so I will have to try it out sometime this week. I still haven't heard from Jenna or Robert, to know whether Robert is safe home from Afghanistan.

Carol's aunt, Janiece McLain passed away on November 11, and we attend her funeral today in Chico, California. We had a chance to visit with Carol's family, sisters Terry Scudder and Pattie Holliday and cousins Suzie Wess, Bruce McLain, Craig Havel and Rene Price.

Carol left yesterday with her sister Terry, and headed for San Francisco for the day. She spent the night at Terry's house and came home around noon today. I say, home, but we are still staying in Sacramento. We will be here at this location until Friday, November 30, then we are heading to the Marriott until the 6th of December.
I made a batch of my Oatmeal Carmelitas just so I could remember what the recipe was. I ate a few, but plan to send the remaining with Carol to take to her fellow workers. |
